Searching? Or Hoping to be Searched For?

One of our favorite parables is the Good Shepherd's search for the lost lamb. Leaving the 99 sheep in the open to care for themselves, he goes back into the mountains and searches for the lost one until he finds it. Can't you feel his joy when he finds it? Don't we all want to feel loved and cared for so completely?

At St. Paul's we are a flock praying for lost sheep from all over the Columbia area. Many of us were lost ourselves and love what we found here; peace, friendship and the Lord at work. You may not be truly lost, just caught between church homes, still searching for that moment of recognition that says, "This is where I belong." You may know exactly where you are, but wonder where the rest of the flock is (Bull & Blanding!). You may be new to our town and searching for the same warmth and friendship you left behind at your last congregation. Come share with us in worship and see if St. Paul's doesn't feel like just the place you are looking for and if our flock doesn't make you feel at home.

Perhaps you don't even know why you are looking at this page. Was it idle curiosity, or was a door opened for you? You may not be looking for a "church home", but just a place of light and warmth away from the darkness and cold that seems to be what life can become. Our door is also open for you as well and we would love to meet you. You really are important to us and we would be honored if you would share our bread and wine; after all, it was given for you.

"Does he not leave the ninety-nine in the open country and go after the lost sheep until he finds it?"
Luke 15: 4
